  • What does the registration fee cover?

    If you have paid to be a full participant or are a sponsored guest, your daily sporting event of choice and all evening events are covered. You will also receive a participant bag. It does not include your travel or hotel accommodations.

  • If I am a sponsor and I have X number of spots, do all of the participants have to do the same event?

    No, each one of your guests can do something different if they would like. For example, if you are a Bronze sponsor and get 4 guests, one of them can golf, one can fish, one can shoot and one can be a social guest or any other combination you choose.

    Yes, even if your spouse is just attending the evening events they do need to be registered and pay the fee for the evenings. It’s is $300 per evening.

  • Why did my spouse not receive the gift bag?

    Every full participant (those participating in daily events as a golfer, shooter, angler or social guest) will receive a bag. If a person has just paid for evening events they will not receive a bag because their fee does not cover that cost.

  • Which day will I play which tournament course?

    That is determined by the golf pros. Your pairings and course will be posted at Governor’s Cup Registration. You will get to play both courses if you play in both days of the tournament.

  • Can I rent golf clubs?

    Yes, all of our participating courses have rental clubs available. You will need to call the clubhouse to arrange this on your own so that you get your preferred clubs.

  • What should I wear?

    All events are “resort casual.” Dress in attire that is appropriate for your activity of choice during the day. At the evening events most men wear khakis, polos or casual button down shirts, some ladies wear skirts and dresses but pants are very appropriate as well. There is a western BBQ where most people dress in western wear. Please keep in mind that many of the evening events are outside so you will want to bring a light jacket.

    We will always try to accommodate you if we have the size available. We try not to order too many extras so that we can maximize our funding for scholarships.

  • How many scholarships are given each year?

    The amount of scholarships given is dependent on our fundraising for each year. In 2023 we awarded a total of 39 scholarships - 26, four-year academic scholarships, and 13, three-year career-technical education scholarships.

  • How are the scholarship recipients chosen?

    Scholarship applications are reviewed by our Board of Directors. Each application is reviewed by 3 different board members. The 3 scores are averaged and we give scholarships to the top scoring students.

    We try to notify students no later than May 31st in accordance with State Board of Education standards.
